App crashes when I try to make an online account. This is the first thing I tried to do so its not looking good.

I was really excited about this app since I love the Mother Earth News mags. However, I find this app to be quite frustrating on an iPad as it seems to seriously lag and create things that you dont want. For example, I tried to move a circle and all I ended up doing was creating a large oval back to a too small circle and wasting ten minutes of my time. This app may be better off on a laptop but that wouldnt be very handy in the garden. This is my second year with this app and I think, as last year, I will get out a piece of grid paper and a pencil. It may help if they had a USER GUIDE or HELP button!

There is a lot of bugs... Only 30 min I m using it and I crashed already 4 times... Lot options is not working. Very disappointed I pay that price for nothing!!! Can I be reimburse ?

Terrible App, what a waist of money! Constantly crashes and not user friendly. Drawing a rectangle will take you 20 minutes.

I love the Mother Earth news magazine, as it always has useful quality material, so I was extra disappointed that they would put this app out. As other reviewers have stated, this app is very buggy - I am a UI designer myself, with a solid understanding of tools from many different types of programs, it took me a while to draw a rectangle (the handles are not responsive to touch, and it’s incapable of providing measurements if you draw from top right down to bottom left reads as 0’0” x 0’0"). Likewise, adding garden beds with multiple rows causes a constant flicker that makes it nearly impossible to get the numbers you want …. Also, you have to go to 3 different screens before you can choose a different garden vegetable - the User Interface needs lots of work. Can’t believe they would charge almost 10 buck for this. I would also like my money back.

Ive been using the grow planner on the Mother Earth website, which is fantastic. This app, however, is very buggy. Im not even sure what it can do, since it only seems to perform random unwanted changes. Very disappointed, considering that it is an expensive app. Im deleting it now.

Love that I can make a journal for each garden and take notes for individual plants. Very user friendly and all the features work well.

I was so excited to try this out since theres no other program that I could find that does what this claims to do. Well, it doesnt do it. Along with the other complaints if an incredibly of the measly plant selection and the inability to truly customize a custom plant, it just DOESNT WORK. For example, I switched it to "snap to grid mode" not realizing it wouldnt suit my layout style. Well, its not possible to change it back. Not even by completely starting it over. My garden is not in strict square footage so the layouts are basically useless to me now. Add in the fact that before discovering that I learned once you put a plant down, more often than not it will not let you delete said plant if you put it down someplace inadvertently, no matter how many times you press the delete button. Had to start over from scratch. If this program worked on even the most basic level, it would be fantastic and incredibly useful. Please please get this working or someone out there develop another program like it!!

What you would think would be the basics of drawing and selecting doesnt work. Cant get past drawing basic boxes. draw a box and tap to move and nothing happening. When you finally get it to move, the screen doesnt scroll to the direction you are going. you have to stop, move the grid and then try to move the box again until you run out of screen. Intuiative? Not in the least! Watched all the videos on You Tube. Wish it would work that easy.

Trying to select an item and move or modify it is an exercise in frustration and futility. Highlight an item, then try to move it and something else, like the row, or the entire garden plot, is what moves more often than not. I am unable to get specific variety, and thus growing and care information, on many plants, such as tomatoes, or eggplant. I had entered it all by cutting and pasting in the notes field, but it was wiped out during the upgrade, and I cant get it back, or even access a screen to pick a variety. The end result is that a sheet of graph paper and hand written notes are a lot faster, and cheaper! Dont waste your money! Mother Earth News should be ashamed!

I originally gave this APP a bad review, but since the last updates it has improved greatly. I am very pleased with the developers support and continued interest in improving their product. Thank you.

I am new to the app and I got it for half price, but think I overspent

I was having a pretty good time with this app until the latest revision. Sure, there were a few things which Id like to handle differently, and certainly I can always come up with "it would be neat if . . ." but basically its a really handy app. Until the latest revision. Now I try to open it, but all I get is the opening splash screen. That displays for about 15 seconds, and then it just shuts down. Without opening it, I dont know another good way to communicate this problem, so Im hoping this posting can get me somewhere somehow. Please note -- this is NOT really a condemning review. Ive been enjoying the app, and am just now having a hiccup. I hope to report back soon that my problem is resolved, and add the (probably 4-star) rating which the app more properly deserves. Update -- 11/30 Out of the blue, it just started working. I have no idea what has change, but Ill take it. Modifying from 1-star to 4.

I like it when it worked. Now cant even get it to run since the update to the iPad OS.

I like this app a lot. Yes, there are a couple of bugs here and there, but I havent had as much trouble as the other reviewers. The app helps plan out your garden, including square foot gardening and succession planting... Very cool!

I have only been using this app for a few hours but so far, its great. The library of plants is quite extensive. You can adjust by month to do succession plantings. There is a journal option. I read the negative reviews about bugs and the like so I waited for a new version. So far, this one seems fine--no problems whatsoever and I envision it being a useful planning tool for my veggie and herb gardens.

I find this program is not quite polished ready with a lot of bugs still. It definitely needs more work. When you put a "plant" into your garden you cant even delete it and there are no instructions in the guide book on how to do this. Then when you add another plant the previous one simply disappears. Kind of weird! I bought this on a recommendation but I certainly would not buy it and I sure wish I could get a refund because it is WAY overpriced for what you get. You sure are getting a half baked program for the money. I would recommend buying another program.1218

Very hard to figure out. Do note waste your money on this app.
