This might be the single worst app on the App Store and Mother Earth News should be embarrassed to put its name on it. You absolutely have to watch the tutorial and then constantly refer to the app manual (good luck finding that) to get even the simplest thing done. Oh and dont plan on actually adding any plants to your plan since the app must be importing varieties from a server on Neptune or somewhere at least that far away. Just a very, very bad app.

I have used the desktop version of this app a few times and was quite pleased. It was always very intuitive and easy to edit. However, after only a few hours of using this app, I am disappointed and frustrated. At first, I thought it was my fat fingers that were unable to select garden plots. My stylus has had no better luck. Try to resize your plot? Forget about it. I can only hope that in the upcoming updates, Mother Earth takes these simple things into consideration. As far as a resource goes, the plant information is clear and informative (thus saving it from a one star review). I will continue to use the app, as difficult as it is only because I spent $8.00. Not because it was worth the money. Hopefully some updates will come around that make it user friendly.

Was excited about this app but its been nothing but a problem. Customer service was personable but not helpful-- just said to reinstall the app. Said these problems "never happened!" Frustrating. Waste of time & money until bugs are fixed. Lots of bugs now!!

first you pay $7.99 then you find out you have to pay $25 a year to keep it for more than 30 days. DO NOT BUY!

This app is really a waste of time. It is not easy to navigate and is difficult to plan for raised beds or square foot. I wish I had saved the money.

This is the first app Ive ever bought and the last. It will not allow me to do most of the features. I cant even access all the reference material and when I tried to contact customer service it drops my e mail and shows two layers of options and material on one screen please contact me so we can resolve these issues

I subscribe to Mother Earth news and was really excited about getting this planner app. Ive had it for over a week and been working with it every day. First let me say that I have it on an iPad that is quick and works great. Im not "ignorant" on laying out a project such as this and my reading and comprehension skills are are just fine. I installed the app. Read all the information provided. Everything great. I started to lay out my garden and everything was going good. I was actually very pleased. Then, It got progressively slower and slower. I actually tried to add a plant a few minutes ago and while I was waiting for it to respond went out and added wood to my wood stove. You just need to stay away from this app. Please dont wast your money the way I did. Id love it if would work as it should and be responsive. I really do. Bottom line it should have "O" stars. Please stay away until you see positive reviews. Thanks Dwight I need to add to my review. Believe it or not, I was working on the planner on New Years Day. 2:pm Still very frustrated I sent an email to Mother Earth News, a short time latter I got an email from them. That was amazing and beyond belief. They guided me along and got the issue resolved. I still have a glitch on occasion but nothing like I did, So.... Mother Earth News... I must apologize for being so grumpy. I thank you retract my previous 1 star. Update I do have a problem with the app. Im unable to delete some things from my garden. This app has a lot of potential if the creator would fix it but in the end.... I wouldnt recommend it after all. Thanks

Ive been using this app and website for five or six years. The app is an improvement from the website planner (from a Mac) but still incredibly clunky and slow. It takes eons to make changes, move plants and load the app. Often times the app will crash and lose hours of work, but as luck has it, hours of work is only a few plants added since the app is so slow. This program has loads of potential and I keep coming back because it remembers past years plots to make crop rotation a breeze. Every year when I start working on my plans I think, the developer must have fixed this by now, especially with MotherEarthNews backing it. But so far, the answer is no. Use it if you have free time to waste, but not recommended for an impatient soul.

I really enjoy this app! It helps make gardening easy, just grab the iPad and I see my layout and can customize things on the spot. I believe you do have to have a yearly membership to Mother Earths Online garden planner(which you can share plans between the two of them), but I was already doing that, and it was well worth the money! They must have fixed a lot of the issues other users were having, because it works well. There are still a few bugs(expanding crops not always going the correct direction, easy work around though), but nothing that has hindered me. The only thing I would really like to see is a better garden Notes section. So that my personalized notes are easier to view. I have a 3rd gen ipad and enjoy this app.

this app is a Big Fat Zero!! Worst app I have ever purchased. Dont waste your time or money. About as Un-User-Friendly as they come. Hard to use, hard to figure out how to use. Terrible assistance within the app. I might as well keep on with my hand drawn garden plans.

This app can best be described as glitchy and unreliable. I love the concept and the features the creators are going for, but Ive spent 2 frustrating days battling this thing. Even emailed with their customer service (the response was quick so they get 1 star for that) and every suggestion they gave me Id already tried with no success. In its present form this app is a complete waste of $7.99 and Mother Earth News should be embarrassed to have their name associated with it. And dont be fooled, Garden Plan Pro is by the same developer - those reviews would indicate that these are the same products.

Hate it. Freezes. Deletes work. Adds items unexpectedly. Multiple emails and sending tech data. No improvement. Wish there was another program I could find. Back to paper for me.

This is an awesome app that unfortunately crashes non stop. It would be 5 stars if it didnt crash ALL THE TIME.

Not intuitive and too many glitches. Unpredictable. Disappointed. If fixed it could be satisfactory.

Room for improvement. Wish you could move multiple items at once. Have not had problems with glitches but app is sometimes slow to respond. Decent app for basic planning. Would like to see another update with additional features.

This app wasnt working with my phone iPhone 4. I sent them a message then deleted the app thinking that like normal they wouldnt respond. But unlike other apps they are emailing me to help fix the problem and being very helpful

Paper and Pencil is waaaay better. This program is cute, but not very intuitive. Cant move multiple items, can only copy one time per command. Crashed on me 5 times the first time I used it. Nice idea, but I would like my money back. Im going back to pencil and paper.

Dont waste your money on this app, it just isnt worth it.
